with love from paris

Even if two days are too short for the city of love, I can still recommend a weekend trip to Paris. Actually spring time is a pretty good time for it.

For such a short weekend trip I have a small but nice city guide with a few tipps and must do´s.

FOODPORN

If anyone has any idea for good pastries, then they are french. 🙂 No matter where you buy croissants, they always taste fantastic and better than anywhere else. 🙂 Another must try are macarons from Ladurée. Even when they always taste the same at every macaron baker, the ones from Ladurée are the classic ones.

Basicly on city trips we don´t take breakfast at our hotels, since it´s always the most beautiful thing to go out for breakfast to discover a lot of cute cafés and locations. So for Paris I can recommend the wonderful Ob-La-Di and SEASON (the blogger friendly marble tables are at the first floor). Both locations are in the same disctrict Le Marais. In addition to the good pastries the french make the best granola and that´s the reason why I ordered yoghurt with granola at Ob-La-Di and an acai bowl at SEASON. Of course, you should not miss avocado toasts. 🙂

If you are in hurry or would like to have breakfast to go, the bakery Pain Pain would be the right address for you.

The burgers and sweet potato fries at Bistro Burger are definitely perfect for dinner.

After Amsterdam, London, Singapur, Sydney, Florenz and Istanbul Magnum finally opened its new “Store Concept” in Paris, also in Marais.
And who could not resist the instagramable icecream?! ME 🙂

SHOPPING

Not without a reason Paris is a fashion metropole and so you have a lot of shopping possibilities.
From luxury to second hand, there is something for everybody. For luxury segment it´s the Galleries Lafayette. The most beautiful shopping mall is worth a visit, even if you would only take a look, since the architecture is breathtaking.

The most beautiful shops you will find at the hip district Le Marais.

There are small concept stores, like the new store from Anine Bing, which is pretty beautiful, on every corner.

You should also plan a stop by for a good smelling candle at the Diptyque Store. 🙂

And everybody who would like to shop good second hand and vintage pieces will find many shops in the region around Hotel de Ville.

WHAT TO SEE

You should already know that I´m not a big fan of touristic sightseeing and museum. Nevertheless Paris has a lot of beautiful attractions, which you should definitely plan to see with your first visit in Paris.

The Eiffel tower, the Louvre and Sacré-Coeur are my favorite sightseeing spots in Paris. Even Sacré-Coeur with its amazing view and breathtaking feeling is always good for a visit on a trip to Paris. Especially in spring and summer time it is just awesome.
The hike to the Sacré-Coeur is worth it and it´s rewarded with this amazing view.
The bustle of people there is fascinating and the biggest star there is the world´s most famous football artist.

For all who don´t like to visit a crowded Eiffel tower should go there early in the morning around 9 a.m.

After a visit at Louvre you can stroll through the beautiful Jardin Tuileries which enters into the Champs Elysees and from there take a walk to the Arc de Triomphe.

Grand Pigalle Hotel

There is no doubt that there are many super hotels in Paris. Even the price range is from pretty cheap to very expensive. Well we found the best hotel for us with a good price-performance ratio and in a great district.

LOCATION

The Le Grand Pigalle Hotel ist located in the disctrict St Georges direktly at the Metro station Pigalle. Right around the corner there is the legendary Moulin Rouge and that means there is a lot of fun and attractions. 🙂 The hotel is perfect to discover the whole city, since everything is in walking distance. So the Sacre-Coeur is just 10 min. by walk from the hotel.
You can also reach the Lafayette and some other shopping options and the district Le Marais by walking. It´s definitely a longer walk, but worth it, since there is so many to discover.

ROOMS

Like the whole hotel the rooms are so funny and lovely decorated and in fact, there´s no boring hotel room at all. Everywhere you can spot colorful, but also decent colors and patterns. Wether the leo carpet or the black and white tiles. The fancy heart beats faster here. The rooms were renovated just recently and it´s all pretty clean and new.

The special is if you can get a room at the highest located 5th floor, as these rooms all have a small parisian balcony with a breathtaking view.

The funniest: The hotel is connected with a bar, which is reception at the same time. At first we were a little bit confused as we arrived pretty late in the evening and had to check in for our room at a bar, but then it was really cool.

In lovely cooperation with Le Grand Pigalle Hotel.
